Volunteer custodians

Would you like to help to welcome visitors to Gisborough Priory?

We have a dedicated group of volunteer custodians who help to open the site and provide information to visitors. They are based in the small hut near the priory entrance.

Volunteer custodians work for a three hour session, either 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm, when the priory is open to visitors.

Custodians give visitors:

  • Information about what to see and do
  • Warnings about any hazards
  • Extra information about the history of the priory and gardens using the maps, pictures and reports available for reference in the hut.

They also sell guidebooks and exclusive pottery and wooden goods.
