After the Dissolution

Join one of our guides for a tour of the site to learn what happened after the dissolution. The estate has remained in the hands of the Chaloner family since shortly after that event, and this tour looks at what they did to the site over the last 500 years. Georgian landscape gardening and Victorian bothys are among the attractions you will encounter.

The tour will last for about one hour and is probably not suitable for small children. Dogs on leads, however, are very welcome.

Meet at the Site Guides Hut just before the start. There is no need to book. You should wear suitable footwear, the grass can be long and wet at times, the paths are sometimes slippery and the ground can be uneven.

If the weather is really bad we may cancel the tour at short notice.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
